Tau hyperphosphorylation correlates with reduced methylation of protein phosphatase 2A

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease, 2008
The down-regulation of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) activity is thought to play an important role in the formation of tau hyperphosphorylation in the Alzheimer's disease (AD) brain. Methylation of the PP2A catalytic subunit at the L309 site can potently

Dysregulated TIE‐2 expression is associated with blood‐brain barrier leakiness and Alzheimer's disease‐related neuropathology

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Ince et al., have analysed TIE‐1 and ‐2 expression in human brain tissue, including microvessel‐enriched fractions (MVF) and covering a spectrum of AD‐associated pathology, and in CSF from independent cohorts spanning a clinical spectrum from normal cognition to AD.

Distinctly altered TRPC3 and TRPC6 expression patterns in human Alzheimer's disease cortex and hippocampus

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Divergent remodeling of TRPC channels occurs in Alzheimer's disease, with TRPC3 increased in neurons and reactive astrocytes and TRPC6 reduced in pyramidal neurons. These alterations may contribute to calcium dysregulation, neuroinflammation, and synaptic dysfunction during AD progression.

The MacBrain Resource Center (MBRC) rhesus macaque postnatal brain histology datasets: Enabling new discoveries through NHP tissue and digital data Repositories

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
The MacBrain Resource Center (MBRC) postnatal rhesus macaque brain histology datasets are organized into Collections that promote cost‐effective de novo research. This article provides examples from Collections 5, 6, and 7 and describes the histo‐ and immunohistochemical (IHC) processing of materials for Collection 6.

A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Semaglutide Effects on Adipose Tissue and Emerging Effects on Brain and Cognition

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background In 2023 and 2024, research into semaglutide (SEMA), an antiobesity and antidiabetic medication, indicated potential benefits beyond its approved uses, particularly in preventing Alzheimer's disease (AD). This highlights the link between obesity and AD development.

Application of Active Disturbance Rejection in a Bearingless Machine with Split-Winding

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
In this paper it is proposed the displacement control of a bearingless induction machine (BIM) with split winding and optimized drive structure using Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC). Considering that the BIM is a multivariable, nonlinear, and
