Adrenocorticotropic hormone production in breast cancer
35-39Presence of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) was investigated in tissues from 150 cases of primary breast cancer. ACTH peptides were detected in 16.7% cases and ACTH expression was higher in post-menopausal cancers.

ABSTRACT Introduction Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a chronic autoimmune disease, characterised by progressive destruction of the insulin‐producing pancreatic β‐cells. Preserving remaining β‐cells at the time of diagnosis may improve long‐term outcomes. Frexalimab is a humanised monoclonal antibody specific for CD40L undergoing evaluation for treatment of ...

Occult ectopic adrenocorticotropic hormone secretion: diagnostic dilemma and infective consequence
A 42-year-old male presented with polyuria, polydipsia and weight loss. His initial physical exam showed a paucity of cushingoid features. Diagnostic work up was consistent with an ectopic adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) secretion.

Summary Background The diagnosis and management of pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction (PPID) in horses includes evaluating abnormal plasma concentrations of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH). Treatment commonly includes the oral dopamine agonist pergolide mesylate, which suppresses the pathologic overproduction of ACTH.
