Transient effect of weak electromagnetic fields on calcium ion concentration in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2009
Background Weak magnetic and electromagnetic fields can influence physiological processes in animals, plants and microorganisms, but the underlying way of perception is poorly understood.

Synthesis and Biological Activity of 2,6‐Disubstituted 7‐Deazapurine Ribonucleosides

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 5, February 3, 2025.
A series of 2,6‐disubstituted derivatives of 7‐deazapurine ribonucleosides with different combinations of aryl and arylalkynyl substituents were synthesized through regioselective cross‐coupling reactions and tested for biological activity. Abstract Several series of 2,6‐disubstituted 7‐deazapurine ribonucleosides were synthesized to investigate their ...

Isolation and properties of various molecular forms of aequorin [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1986
The photoprotein aequorin emits light by an intramolecular reaction when a trace of Ca2+ is added. The samples of aequorin that were purified by the conventional methods of column chromatography were separated by high-performance liquid chromatography into eight molecular forms (isoaequorins), which were designated aequorins A-H.

An Endopolygalacturonase from Sclerotinia sclerotiorum Induces Calcium-Mediated Signaling and Programmed Cell Death in Soybean Cells

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2005
A basic endopolygalacturonase (PG) isoform, produced early by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum when infecting soybean seedlings, was used to examine the signaling role of the enzyme in aequorin-expressing soybean cells.

Ca2+-regulated Photoprotein Obelin as N-terminal Partner in the Fusion Proteins [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал Сибирского федерального университета: Серия Биология, 2010
Ca2+-regulated photoproteins genetically fused with biospecific polipeptides have been extensively used in intracellular Ca2+ measurements and in the development of binding assays.
