Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Numerical and experimental study on aerodynamic design for the rear wing of an electric sports car

open access: yesKongqi donglixue xuebao
The rear wing is a core component determining the aerodynamic downforce of sports cars. In the design of electric sports cars, its aerodynamic development faces a fundamental contradiction: enhancing downforce to improve handling stability while ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Design of a wind turbine rotor for maximum aerodynamic efficiency

open access: yesWind Energy, 2008
AbstractThe design of a three‐bladed wind turbine rotor is described, where the main focus has been highest possible mechanical power coefficient, CP, at a single operational condition. Structural, as well as off‐design, issues are not considered, leading to a purely theoretical design for investigating maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The rotor is ...

Time-Varying Wing-Twist Improves Aerodynamic Efficiency of Forward Flight in Butterflies

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Insect wings can undergo significant chordwise (camber) as well as spanwise (twist) deformation during flapping flight but the effect of these deformations is not well understood.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
