Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

Hypermutation in antibody affinity maturation
Current Opinion in Immunology, 1999By studying the role of mismatch repair in hypermutation at the immunoglobulin loci, the field of antibody hypermutation has been integrated into the larger area of DNA repair. Trans-acting factors - Ku70, Ku80 and possibly SWAP-70 - have been identified for the temporally related but not mechanistically related immunoglobulin heavy-chain class-switch.

Homology Modeling-Based in Silico Affinity Maturation Improves the Affinity of a Nanobody [PDF]
Affinity maturation and rational design have a raised importance in the application of nanobody (VHH), and its unique structure guaranteed these processes quickly done in vitro. An anti-CD47 nanobody, Nb02, was screened via a synthetic phage display library with 278 nM of KD value.

Affinity maturation and class switching
Current Opinion in Immunology, 1996Affinity maturation and class switching of antibodies are temporally, but not mechanistically, related processes. The basis of affinity maturation is the selection, in the germinal centers, of antibodies that bind the antigen better. Early in an immune response, the selection is from the primary repertoire; later, it is from mutants generated by ...

Affinity Maturation by Phage Display
2008Antibodies are indispensable tools for research, diagnostics, and therapy. However, sometimes antibodies with the most favourable specificity profile lack sufficient affinity for a desired application. Here, we describe a method to increase the affinity of recombinant scFv antibody fragments based on random mutagenesis and phage display under stringent

Effects of age on antibody affinity maturation
Biochemical Society Transactions, 2003The elderly are more susceptible to infectious diseases. Mortality and morbidity from infections increase sharply over the age of 65 years. At the same time, the efficacy of vaccinations in the elderly is decreased. The elderly also have an increased incidence of cancer and inflammatory diseases.

Antibody Affinity Maturation by Computational Design
2018The immune systems protect our bodies from foreign molecules or antigens, where antibodies play important roles. Antibodies evolve over time upon antigen encounter by somatically mutating their genome sequences. The end result is a series of antibodies that display higher affinities and specificities to specific antigens.

Affinity Maturation in Ectopic Germinal Centers
2000It is becoming clear that a precisely structured lymphoid tissue is essential for the establishment of an antigen specific immune response. The differentiation of the antigen activated lymphocyte into effector cells requires a well organized microenvironment in which the antigen specific and the antigen presenting cells come into close physical contact.

The application of adenine deaminase in antibody affinity maturation
Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2023Previously, we established a platform for antibody/protein affinity maturation based on CHO cell display. The gene of interest was mutated by activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID), and then, a mutation library mainly containing G/C to A/T conversion was obtained by simply proliferating cells.
