Aflatoxin M1 in Human Urine

Nature, 1970
So far, only circumstantial evidence has indicated that aflatoxin is involved in the aetiology of liver cancer1, but we have found that it is possible to investigate this relationship by measuring the urinary excretion of aflatoxin M1, which is the hydroxylated product of B1.

Aflatoxin M1 in yoghurts in Portugal

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2004
Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) may occur in milk and milk products, resulting from the ingestion of aflatoxin B1 in feedstuffs by dairy cow. Ninety-six samples of commercial yoghurts (48 natural yoghurts and 48 yoghurt with pieces of strawberries) that are produced in Portugal were analyzed for the presence of AFM1 by immunoaffinity column extraction and high ...

Selection of aptamers for aflatoxin M1 and their characterization

Journal of Molecular Recognition, 2014
In the present work, aptamers against aflatoxin M1 and aflatoxin B1 were generated and tested for creating proof of principle of recognition of aflatoxin M1 by generated aptamers. The aptamers were selected through the process referred as systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment.

Association of aflatoxin M1 with casein

Zeitschrift fr Lebensmittel-Untersuchung und -Forschung, 1982
Equilibrium dialysis was used to determine whether aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) binds to casein. Simulated milk ultrafiltrate (SMUF) containing 10 or 20 ng/ml of AFM1 was dialyzed against SMUF containing casein micelles. After 24 h at 7 degrees C, the casein suspension contained 2.5- or 2.9-fold, respectively, more toxin than that found in SMUF.

Aflatoxin M1 in Tarhana chips

Food Additives & Contaminants: Part B, 2014
Tarhana chips are a popular traditional fermented food consumed widely in the Kahramanmaraş region of Turkey. Tarhana chips are different from many other types of fermented food in that they are produced in the form of tortilla chips. Cereal and yoghurt are the main ingredients in Tarhana chips.

Aflatoxin M1 in milk, in Southern Italy

Mycotoxin Research, 1985
A survey on the occurrence of aflatoxin M1 was carried out in the province of Bari (Italy) on a total of 106 samples of raw milk from local farms, commercially heattreated milk, and dried milk. About 72% of the samples were contaminated with aflatoxin M1 within the concentration range 4-280ng/Kg.

Radioimmunoassay of aflatoxin M1

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Letters, 1987
Radioimmunoassay for the differential determination of aflatoxin M1 has been developed. It is based on the use of antiserum having almost the same affinity to both aflatoxins B1 and M1 /Ka for aflatoxin B1=2.0×109 and Ka for aflatoxin M1=2.1×109/ and making possible their simultaneous determination.

Carcinogenicity of synthetic aflatoxin M1 in rats

Food and Cosmetics Toxicology, 1974
Abstract Synthetic, racemic aflatoxin M1 administered to male Fischer rats by stomach tube in 40 doses totalling 1 mg/rat induced hepatocellular carcinoma in one rat of a group of 29 killed 100 wk after dosing. Natural aflatoxin B1 at the same dose induced liver tumours in 9 9 rats after 53 wk.
