Competition of Superconductivity and Antiferromagnetism in a d-Wave Vortex Lattice

open access: yes, 2002
The d-wave vortex lattice state is studied within the framework of Bogoliubov-de Gennes (BdG) mean field theory. We allow antiferromagnetic (AFM) order to develop self-consistently along with d-wave singlet superconducting (dSC) order in response to an ...

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Treatment efficiency of effluent prawn culture by wetland with floating aquatic macrophytes arranged in series

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
The efficiency of a series of wetland colonized with Eichhornia crassipes and Salvinia molesta to treat the effluent of a giant river prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) broodstock pond was evaluated in this study.

Pan-viral serology implicates enteroviruses in acute flaccid myelitis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Since 2012, the United States of America has experienced a biennial spike in pediatric acute flaccid myelitis (AFM)1-6. Epidemiologic evidence suggests non-polio enteroviruses (EVs) are a potential etiology, yet EV RNA is rarely detected in cerebrospinal

Interaction imaging with amplitude-dependence force spectroscopy

open access: yes, 2013
Knowledge of surface forces is the key to understanding a large number of processes in fields ranging from physics to material science and biology. The most common method to study surfaces is dynamic atomic force microscopy (AFM).

A New Threshold Switching Device With Tunable Negative Differential Resistance Based on ErMnO3 Polymorphs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymorph engineering in ErMnO3 enables low‐voltage, forming‐free threshold switching with tunable negative differential resistance. Conducting orthorhombic regions embedded in an insulating hexagonal matrix provide controlled Joule‐heating‐enhanced Poole–Frenkel transport. The hexagonal phase prevents excessive heating and breakdown.

CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing in the parental iPSC line PCIi033-A to introduce the homozygous mutation p.F508del (c.1521_1523del) in the CFTR gene

open access: yesStem Cell Research
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive disease caused by mutations in the CFTR gene. Patients carrying the most common mutation, p.F508del, benefit from the triple therapy Kaftrio®. We genome-edited the commercially available iPSC line PCIi033-A (

Universality of dispersive spin-resonance mode in superconducting BaFe2As2

open access: yes, 2013
Spin fluctuations in superconducting BaFe2(As1-xPx)2 (x=0.34, Tc = 29.5 K) are studied using inelastic neutron scattering. Well-defined commensurate magnetic signals are observed at ({\pi},0), which is consistent with the nesting vector of the Fermi ...

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.
