Identification Epitope on VP4 Protein of Senecavirus A Recognized by a Monoclonal Antibody
This study aims to identify conserved antigenic epitopes on the SVA VP4 protein using monoclonal antibodies, providing valuable tools for further exploring its functions and developing detection methods. SVA VP4 protein was expressed in Escherichia coli and purified with High‐Affinity Ni‐Charged Resin FF.

The effects of restricted nursing (RN) and the administration of a bovine appeasing substance (BAS) on days −8 and 0 in relation to weaning were evaluated. Both strategies were effective in improving the growth performance of beef calves. Regarding welfare, BAS ‐especially on day 0‐ was more effective than RN.

Indoor versus Outdoor Calf Rearing at Three Weaning Ages
Abstract Sixty Holstein calves were randomly allotted to two housing systems (inside and outside) and three weaning ages (3, 5, and 7 weeks) within each housing system. Individual outdoor calf hutches and individual pens in an insulated heated barn were utilized for the initial 14 weeks.

A retrospective study of thermal events on the mortality rate of hutch-reared dairy calves
IntroductionHeat stress in hutch-reared dairy calves (Bos taurus) is highly relevant due to its adverse effects on animal welfare, health, growth, and economic outcomes. This study aimed to provide arguments for protecting calves against heat stress.

Follicle Stimulating Hormone in Cattle Breeding: Fundamentals, Innovations, and Scope
FSH is crucial in cattle reproduction, with exogenous administration enhancing breeding and embryo production. Recombinant FSH offers advantages over pituitary‐extracted variants, including fewer injections, reduced stress, and safer production. These innovations improve breeding efficiency, optimize reproductive outcomes, and contribute to sustainable

Cows with ketosis during the perinatal period often experience damage to the liver, a core metabolic organ, thereby exacerbating the disease's inherent vicious cycle. This study indicates that serum 3‐IAA concentrations were reduced in ketotic cows and show a significant negative correlation with hepatic TG content.

Plasma and Blood Volume in the Calf from Birth Till 90 Days of Age
Determinations of plasma volume were made of 9 clinically healthy Swedish Red and White calves from birth to 90 days of age by means of the isotop dilution technique. Commercially available 131I labelled human serum albumin was used. Calculation of the total blood volume was based on the plasma volume and packed cell volume.
