People aged 80 and over are the fastest-growing age group in most industrialised countries. On average, this life phase is characterised by a significantly higher burden of morbidity, limitations in daily activities, medical and dental treatment needs and phenomena such as multimorbidity and frailty.

過去5年間に経験した80歳以上の消化器疾患全身麻酔手術例58例を対象に, 術後合併症, 予後に影響を及ぼす因子など, 高齢者手術例の臨床的特徴につき検討した. 80歳以上は全体の5.7%を占めその割合は増加傾向にあった. 疾患内容は悪性疾患が69.0%と多く, また緊急手術率は15.5%で胆管炎や腹膜炎などの感染を合併しているものが大半を占めていた. 41.4%に術後合併症を認め, 出血, 敗血症, 縫合不全などの重篤な合併症を有した3例が直死した.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression
