A Decentralized Solution for Transmission Expansion Planning: Getting Inspiration from Nature
Transmission expansion planning is a problem of considerable complexity where classical optimization techniques are unable to handle large case studies. Decomposition and divide-and-conquer strategies have been applied to this problem.

The ABM Template Models -- A Reformulation with Reference Implementations [PDF]
This paper refines a well-known set of template models for agent-based modeling and offers new reference implementations. It also addresses issues of design, flexibility, and ease of use that are relevant to the choice of an agent-based modeling platform.

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

An Agent Operationalization Approach for Context Specific Agent-Based Modeling [PDF]
The potential of agent-based modeling (ABM) has been demonstrated in various research fields. However, three major concerns limit the full exploitation of ABM; (i) agents are too simple and behave unrealistically without any empirical basis, (ii) \'proof
