Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Pharmacological and functional approaches for the treatment of brain aging

open access: yes
openIl brain aging, o invecchiamento cerebrale, è un complesso insieme di processi che si sviluppano con l'avanzare dell'età e comportano l'alterazione strutturale e funzionale del cervello.

Economic Security in an Aging Canadian Population [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper has been written to bring up to date materials in a monograph that was a part of the Butterworths series of monographs in social gerontology, in particular, the 1991 monograph entitled: Economic Security in an Aging Population (Brown, 1991 ...

Chloroquine Causes Aging-like Changes in Diaphragm Neuromuscular Junction Morphology in Mice

open access: yes
Autophagy impairments have been implicated in various aging conditions. Previous studies in cervical motor neurons show an age-dependent increase in the key autophagy proteins LC3 and p62, reflecting autophagy impairment and autophagosome accumulation ...

Hemodynamic Aging as the Consequence of Structural Changes Associated with Early Vascular Aging (EVA). [Elektronisk resurs]

open access: yes, 2014
An increase in peripheral vascular resistance at rest is not routinely observed in healthy older persons, but often associated with increased stiffness of central elastic arteries, as hallmarks of aging effects on the vasculature, referred to as early ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
