Characterization of a new radiochromic film (LD-V1) using mammographic beam qualities
Purpose: Radiochromic film (RCF) is a detector that can obtain a two-dimensional dose distribution with high resolution; it is widely used in medical and industrial fields. Several types of RCFs exist based on their application.

Air kerma and absorbed dose standards for reference dosimetry in brachytherapy. [PDF]
This article reviews recent developments in primary standards for the calibration of brachytherapy sources, with an emphasis on the currently most common photon-emitting radionuclides. The introduction discusses the need for reference dosimetry in brachytherapy in general. The following section focuses on the three main quantities, i.e.

Patient Dose Optimisation of Abdominopelvic Protocols During X‐Ray Imaging
This study evaluates organ doses in abdominopelvic radiography for both erect and supine positions, addressing dose optimisation concerns in Ghana. Using CalDose X and thermoluminescence dosimeters, organ doses and image quality were analysed, revealing significant dose reductions with optimised exposure parameters (70 kVp, 10 mAs, 110 cm FDD).

Reducing radiation exposure to staff performing coronary angiography and intervention is an occupational health and safety priority for hospitals. We demonstrate that a larger lead acrylic shield, with lead rubber pleats on the lower edge will reduce radiation exposure to the cardiologist performing the procedure by approximately 40%. We recommend that
