Assessing Policies for the Uptake of Sustainable Aviation Fuels Using the Impact Monitor Framework

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
The Impact Monitor Project, funded by the EU, aims to develop an impact assessment framework for European aviation. This paper uses the framework for the modelling and simulation of an impact assessment at the air transport system level, focusing on ...

Hydrant refueling system as an optimisation of aircraft refuelling [PDF]

open access: yesTransport Problems, 2015
At large international airports, aircraft can be refuelled either by fuel trucks or using dedicated underground pipeline systems. The latter, hydrant refuelling, is considered to be an optimal fuelling method as it increases safety, shortens the aircraft

Interdependent Uncertainty Handling in Trajectory Prediction

open access: yesAerospace, 2019
The concept of 4D trajectory management relies on the prediction of aircraft trajectories in time and space. Due to changes in atmospheric conditions and complexity of the air traffic itself, the reliable prediction of system states is an ongoing ...

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Identification of BDS Registers

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
The SSR Mode S technology is currently one of the major means of surveillance in ATM. Addressed surveillance enables the elicitation of replies from Mode S transponder on board of an aircraft containing different flight information in the so-called BDS ...

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Overview of the Clean Sky 2 Technology Evaluator Project Methodology

open access: yesAerospace
Clean Sky 2 (CS2) was established to reduce the environmental impact of air transport by the introduction of new advanced aeronautical technologies, to improve mobility and to demonstrate reduction potentials for CO2, NOx, and noise emissions of from 20%

Neurochemical Endpoints to Inform Early‐Stage Trials of Spinocerebellar Ataxia 2 and 3 in a Multisite Setting

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neurochemical levels measured by brain MR spectroscopy (MRS) have been proposed as endpoints for clinical trials in early‐stage spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) trials. We tested their trial‐readiness by quantifying neurochemicals in three affected brain regions in early‐stage cohorts of SCA2 and SCA3, examining their reproducibility in ...

Risk-Aware UAV Trajectory Optimization Using Open Urban GIS Data and Target Level of Safety Constraints

open access: yesDrones
Integrating Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) into urban airspace requires a risk-aware approach to strategic flight planning and trajectory optimization, particularly for beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations. Existing regulatory frameworks impose strict
