Analysis of mechanical and microstructural characteristics of AISI 430 stainless steel welded by GMAW

open access: yes, 2022
The use of stainless steels in the machine manufacturing industry is increasing day by day. Due to the poor corrosion properties of especially unalloyed and low-alloy steels, stainless steels are among the preferred materials in industrial applications ...

Stability and the United States ‐ What Are We Doing? A Historical Summary of Financial Support for Steel Structural Stability Research

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 8, Issue 6, Page 25-30, December 2025.
Abstract Since the early 1900s, supporters of steel structural stability research in the United States have consisted of a broad cross‐section of public, private, and nonprofit entities, with federal and state governments financing most of the activity. However, the model for future government support of science and engineering research in the U.S.

Studying the Impact of Impurities on the Performance of Cadmium‐Free all Sputtered CIGS Solar Cells Using Titanium–Tungsten Barrier

open access: yesSolar RRL, Volume 9, Issue 23, December 2025.
The study demonstrates that a titanium/tungsten barrier layer significantly improves Cu(In, Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cell performance by effectively screening the impurities from steel substrate to CIGS layer. Increasing the barrier layer thickness from 0 to 208 nm boosts efficiency from ≈4% to 16% due to improvement in open circuit voltage and fill factor,

Weldability of AISI 430/AISI 1030 Steel Couples via the Synergic Controlled Pulsed (GMAW-P) and Manual Gas Metal Arc (GMAW) Welding Techniques

open access: yes, 2011
In this study, ferritic stainless steel (AISI 430)/medium-carbon steel (AISI 1030) couples, having two different properties of 10mm thick, were welded by using the synergic controlled pulsed (GMAW-P) and manual gas metal arc welding (GMAW) techniques ...

Investigation of Oxide Dispersion Strengthening Effect on the Strength of Diffusion‐Bonded AISI304 Parts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 21, November 2025.
Experiments for reinforcing the diffusion bonding plane by the oxide dispersion strengthening effect are presented. Small ceramic particles (0.5 and 50 μm, respectively) are incorporated. Furthermore, ceramic particles help to penetrate stable passivation layers, enabling atomic diffusion across bonding planes. Since a ceramic–metallic interface cannot

Wear assessment on AISI 410 steel by tempering process for constant load and speed sustainable applications [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Stainless steels are readily available and inexpensively priced on the market. The reasonable corrosion resistance of AISI 410 martensitic stainless steel has made it a popular choice. Although it is not very ductile, AISI 410 martensitic stainless steel
