Radial profiles in Pt/Al2O3, Re/Al2O3 , and Pt-Re/Al2O3
Applied Catalysis, 1984Abstract The competitive effect of HCl on H2PtCl6 and/or HReO4 deposition on γ-Al2O3 was studied. For this purpose HCl, H2PtCl6, and HReO4 adsorption isotherms were determined, and the radial distribution profiles of the three components were obtained by impregnating cylindrical tablets.

Interfacial reactions in Al2O3/Ti, Al2O3/Ti3Al and Al2O3/TiAl bilayers
Thin Solid Films, 1999Abstract Interfacial reactions were studied at three different heat-treated oxide/metal bilayers (oxide: amorphous a-Al 2 O 3 and metal: crystalline c-Ti, Ti 3 Al or TiAl) by means of AES depth profiling. The different oxide/metal bilayers were sputter deposited on smooth silicon substrates, covered with a TiN thin-film diffusion barrier.

Plasma spraying of Al2O3 and Al2O3Y2O3
Thin Solid Films, 1976Abstract A microstructural study has been carried out of plasma-sprayed Al 2 O 3 and mixed and sintered Al 2 O 3 Y 2 O 3 . In order to ascertain the degree of metastability achieved by plasma spraying, these results are compared with a similar experiment utilizing a CO 2 laser for melting and the hammer-and-anvil technique for quenching of the ...

Thermodynamic assessment of the Al2O3–ZrO2, CaO–Al2O3–ZrO2, and Al2O3–SiO2–ZrO2 systems
Ceramics International, 2022Abstract All available thermodynamic data and phase diagram data in the Al2O3–ZrO2, CaO–Al2O3–ZrO2, and Al2O3–SiO2–ZrO2 systems at 1 bar total pressure were critically evaluated and assessed simultaneously to obtain a set of the optimized Gibbs energies of all phases in the systems.

Wear behaviour of Al2O3–Mo and Al2O3–Nb composites
Wear, 2007The wear behaviour of two Al2O3-Mo and two Al2O3-Nb particulate composites with different Mo particle size and Nb contents, respectively, obtained by hot-pressing, was evaluated. The inverted pin-on-disc tests were performed by making ceramic pins slide against WC discs at different loads with a constant sliding speed and sliding distance.

Effective fracture toughness in Al2O3–Al2O3/ZrO2 laminates
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2007During the processing of laminar ceramics, biaxial residual stresses can arise due to the thermal mismatch between different layers. For ceramic multilayers, the beneficial consequences of compressive stresses at the surface are well known: increase in strength, apparent toughness and reliability. Nevertheless, the resulting tensile stresses may induce

Sulfuration of Pt/Al2O3, Pt−Re/Al2O3 and Pt−Ir/Al2O3 catalysts
Reaction Kinetics and Catalysis Letters, 1982Three reforming catalysts Pt/Al2O3, Pt−Ir/Al2O3 and Pt−Re/Al2O3 have been sulfurated by H2S and tested by their activities in benzene hydrogenation. By treatment at 500°C under hydrogen flow only a part of the initial activity of the non-sulfurated catalyst is retained. So only a part of the adsorbed sulfur is easily removed in these conditions.

Microstructural study of the κ-Al2O3 → α-Al2O3 transformation in CVD κ-Al2O3
Surface and Coatings Technology, 1992The microstructural variations occurring during the κ → α transformation in CVD κ-Al2O3 coatings subjected to isothermal heat treatments have been investigated. The microstructures developed in the partly transformed κ-Al2O3 layer (32% α-Al2O3) and fully transformed κ-Al2O3 layer (100% α-Al2O3) were studied and compared with as-deposited κ-Al2O3 (100 ...

Chemisorption of H2S on Al2O3, Al2O3−Cl and Pt/Al2O3−Cl has been studied by gravimetry and IR spectroscopy. The influence of the amount of Cl on the H2S adsorption equilibrium value and the nature of the adsorption sites at low and high coverages are discussed.

Differences in the catalytic properties of Al2O3 and Pt/Al2O3
Reaction Kinetics and Catalysis Letters, 1983The different behaviors of Al2O3 and Pt−Al2O3 for typical hydrocarbon reactions were studied at 500°C and atmospheric pressure. Pt−Al2O3 reached higher total conversion levels, was more easily deactivated and produced more coke deposition than Al2O3 due to reactions catalyzed by Pt (hydrogenolysis and dehydrogenation).
