Abstract A series of substituted benzimidazoles, especially albendazole and its oxodidized derivatives, have been prepared with pendant carboxylic acid functional groups attached to three different positions of the benzimidazole ring. The acids were converted to reactive esters with 3-hydroxysuccinimide and DCC and coupled to proteins.

[Preparation of albendazole sulfoxide--- an active metabolite]
Zhejiang da xue xue bao. Yi xue ban = Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciencesOBJECTIVE: To investigate the facile method for preparation of albendazole sulfoxide, an active metabolite in vivo. METHODS: The reaction condition was investigated according to evaluations to the results of the experiment through temperature, solvent, oxidation agent, reaction time and impurity.

Reversed phase HPLC methods for the determination of two metabolites of albendazole in cow's milk are described. Albendazole is an anthelmintic agent used both in veterinary and human practice. Its main metabolites are albendazole-sulfoxide and albendazole-sulfone. The separation of the two metabolites was performed on a μ-Bondapak C-18 column using an

Mebendazole (Meb), albendazole (Alb) or albendazole sulfoxide (AlbSO) were taken rapidly in vitro by secondary cysts of Echinococcus granulosus removed out from mice infected with protoscoleces 8-9 months previously. The amounts of the drugs taken by the cysts were apparently increased followed by exposure of the cysts to the drugs at 10 micrograms.ml ...
