Engineering Folic Acid‐Modified Nanoparticles to Enhance Letrozole's Anticancer Action
Folate‐functionalized, pH‐sensitive nanoparticles (NPs) are developed for the targeted delivery of letrozole (LTZ) in breast cancer therapy. LTZ‐loaded PCL‐co‐PEG NPs exhibit controlled release, enhanced cytotoxicity, and apoptosis induction in MCF‐7 cells.

Amphiphilic Poly(γ‐glutamic acid) Derivatives for Delivering Doxorubicin in Cancer Cells
In this study, poly(γ‐glutamic acid) was modified via esterification with 4‐phenyl‐butyl bromide to enhance its amphiphilic properties, enabling self‐assembly into nanoparticles (NPs). Further functionalization with hydrophilic groups (MethoxyPEG) and targeting ligands (Folic acid‐PEG) (FA‐PEG) provided NPs that were loaded with DOX and delivered in U ...

Sex‐dependent effects on plasma metabolome and gut microbiota were observed after oral administration of ellagic acid (EA) encapsulated in milk‐derived exosomes (EXO‐EA) versus non‐encapsulated EA (NEA) and non‐loaded EXOs. EXO‐EA impacted plasma metabolome, modulated gut microbiota, and increased urolithin A and SCFA production sex‐dependently ...

Method for Accurately Assessing the Impact of Enzyme Encapsulation in a Protein Nanocage
We have developed methods for both encapsulating a thermostable enzyme within the artificial protein nanocage TIP60 and releasing it by heating. This enables a direct comparison of the activity of confined and free enzymes under identical reaction conditions, providing a more accurate assessment of how encapsulation affects enzymatic activity ...

Gastrointestinal Alcohol Dehydrogenase [PDF]
Alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) consists of a family of isozymes that convert alcohols to their corresponding aldehydes using NAD+ as a cofactor. The metabolism of ethanol by gastrointestinal ADH isozymes results in the production of acetaldehyde, a highly toxic compound that binds to cellular protein and DNA if not further metabolized to acetate by ...

ALCOHOL AND ALDEHYDE DEHYDROGENASE* [PDF]
The enzymes mainly responsible for ethanol degradation in humans are liver alcohol dehydrogenases (ADH) and aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDH). Polymorphisms occur in both enzymes, with marked differences in the steady-state kinetic constants. The Km-values for ethanol of ADH isoenzymes relevant for alcohol degradation range from 49 microM to 36 microM ...
