The Potential of Phytochemicals to Overcome Multidrug Resistance in Metastatic Melanoma

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Metastatic melanoma is the most lethal form of skin cancer, accounting for most skin cancer‐related deaths. Immunotherapies and targeted therapies have improved overall and progression‐free survival rates in metastatic melanoma patients. The effectiveness of these therapies decreases due to multidrug resistance (MDR).

Ethylene Glycol Poisoning With Oxalate Nephropathy and Acute Kidney Injury: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Ethylene glycol (EG) is a hazardous alcohol present in various household and industrial products. After being metabolized by ethanol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase, it can produce glycolate, acetaldehyde, and oxalate, leading to acute kidney injury.

Bioreduction of β‐ketosulfides Using Deep Eutectic Solvents as Cosolvents

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
A set of β‐ketosulfides has been selectively reduced to optically active β‐hydroxysulfides employing KREDs as biocatalysts in the presence of Deep Eutectic Solvents. By appropriately selecting both the biocatalyst and the reaction medium, both alcohol enantiomers can be obtained in high yields and optical purities.

Biological Conversion of Formate to Organic Compounds: Toward a Sustainable Formate Bioeconomy

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2026.
Formate bioconversion plays a crucial role in achieving renewable resource utilization and sustainable development. To tap its full potential, it is important to identify the most appropriate microbial hosts for incorporating formate into building blocks, design the most promising metabolic pathways for transmitting formate into central carbon ...

AARS1‐mediated AKR1B10 lactylation stabilizes an aerobic glycolysis‐positive feedback loop to drive lenvatinib resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
AKR1B10 confers lenvatinib resistance by enhancing aerobic glycolysis in HCC cells. AKR1B10 undergoes AARS1‐mediated lactylation at K173, stabilizing it by antagonizing ubiquitin‐proteasomal degradation. AKR1B10 promotes LDHA Y10 phosphorylation, boosting lactate production, which drives H3K18la‐mediated transcriptional upregulation of LDHA, creating a
