Radioimmunoassay for human aldolase A

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1981
A radioimmunoassay was developed for the direct quantification of aldolase A in human serum. The method is a double antibody radioimmunoassay using radioiodinated aldolase A4 homopolymer as ligand, chicken antibodies to aldolase A, and rabbit antibodies to chicken IgG. The lowest measurable amount by this method was 2 ng (0.01 U).

Exploring the Conversion of a d‐Sialic Acid Aldolase into a l‐KDO Aldolase

European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2018
Directed evolution involves iterative rounds of genetic diversification followed by selection of variants with improved enzyme properties. A common trend in these studies is the introduction of multiple scattered mutations remote from the active site.

2-Deoxyribose-5-phosphate aldolase, a remarkably tolerant aldolase towards nucleophile substrates

Chemical Communications, 2019
A 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate aldolase from biodiversity was found, complementary to fructose-6-phosphate aldolase, the only previously known aldolase with a large nucleophile tolerance.

A novel threonine aldolase model

Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1975
The AlIII-pyridoxal-catalysed threonine aldolase model reactions of threonine and of a new substrate, β-hydroxyvaline, are followed by quantitative n.m.r. measurements in D2O solution; formation of acetone in the β-hydroxyvaline reaction system provides the first quantitative evidence for C–C bond fission of an α-amino-acid having an α-proton in the ...

A study of trypanosome aldolase

International Journal of Biochemistry, 1970
Abstract 1. 1. Biochemical and scrological properties of partially purified aldolase from Trypanosoma brucei, T. gambiense, T. rhodesiense, T. equiperdum, and T, lewisi have been studied. 2. 2. These enzymes have been purified some one hundred and fiftyfold from crude extracts by sonicadon, (NH4)2,SO4 fractionation, and DEAE Sephadex column ...

A new human species of aldolase A mRNA from fibroblasts.

European Journal of Biochemistry, 1987
A full-length cDNA aldolase A clone was isolated from a human fibroblast cDNA library and completely sequenced. Excluding the poly(A) tail, the clone covers 1095 base pairs (bp) of the coding region, plus 199 bp downstream for the termination codon and 146 bp upstream for the initiation codon, within a total of 1440 bp.

Sensitive enzyme immunoassay for human aldolase A

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1990
A sensitive sandwich-type enzyme immunoassay for the aldolase isozyme, A4, was developed using purified antibodies specific to the A subunit of aldolase. The antibodies were raised in sheep being immunized with purified aldolase A4 and then purified by immunoaffinity chromatography on a column of aldolase A4-coupled Sepharose.

Aldolase-DNA interactions in a SEWA cell system

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Gene Structure and Expression, 1992
In this report we demonstrate the novel finding that aldolase A interacts with DNA sequences in mouse SEWA sarcoma cells. This interaction was initially observed through the identification of a 40 kDa protein which was eluted from a DNA affinity chromatography column consisting of the long terminal repeat (LTR) of the endogenous intracisternal A-type ...

Coenzyme A and Aldolase in Rubber-bearing Plants

Nature, 1958
THERE is evidence that the biosynthesis of rubber from carbon dioxide and water in Parthenium argentatum 1 may proceed through acetate and β-methylcrotonate, and that acetate can also act as a precursor of rubber in Hevea brasiliensis 2. Co-enzyme A probably plays a vital part in the process.

Muscle-type aldolase isolated from a liver tumor

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1969
Abstract Fructose diphosphate aldolase has been crystallized from a Novikoff ascites hepatoma and its properties compared with those of aldolases of normal rat liver and muscle. The identity of the tumor enzyme with the normal muscle enzyme was established on the basis of amino acid composition and tryptic fingerprints, as well as the sensitivity to ...
