Elastic Alfven waves in elastic turbulence [PDF]
An analog of Alfven waves in plasma with velocity set by magnetic tension has been predicted to appear in elastic turbulence. Here the authors observe elastic Alfven waves in elastic turbulence of polymer solution flow between two obstacles where the ...

On the Persistent Poloidal Alfven Waves
AbstractStanding poloidal Alfven waves, radial oscillations with ultralow frequency of 5–20 mHz, are excited by wave‐particle interaction in the magnetosphere. It has been a question over several decades why poloidal oscillations often persist and are not quickly converted into toroidal waves even when there is no corresponding particle source.

Non-Linear Damping of Surface Alfvén Waves Due to Uniturbulence
This investigation is concerned with uniturbulence associated with surface Alfvén waves that exist in a Cartesian equilibrium model with a constant magnetic field and a piece-wise constant density.

Second-order perturbations in Alfvén waves in finite pressure plasma
It is shown first that in finite pressure plasma, just as in cold plasma, Alfvén waves created by an initial perturbation generate plasma flows and decreases in the magnetic field, which propagate along with these waves.

Alfvén waves in space and astrophysical dusty plasmas [PDF]
In this paper, we present some results of previous works on Alfvén waves in a dusty plasma in different astrophysical and space regions by taking into account the effect of superthermal particles on the dispersive characteristics.

A Case for Alfven Wave Heating [PDF]
The resistive dissipation of Alfvén waves in magnetically structured media is examined within the framework of an analytically solvable model in plane geometry. A new class of rapidly oscillations solutions is found, for which the role of resistivity extends to the whole system.

Alfvén Wave Connection between the Chromosphere and the Corona of the Sun: An Analytical Study
Alfvén waves are closely relevant to the three outstanding problems in the solar corona: coronal heating, solar wind acceleration, and the fractionization of low first ionization potential (FIP) elements.

Alfvén waves: To the 80th anniversary of discovery
The article is dedicated to the anniversary of the discovery of Alfvén waves. The concept of Alfvén waves has played an outstanding role in the formation and development of cosmic electrodynamics.

Non-propagating electric and density structures formed through non-linear interaction of Alfvén waves [PDF]
In the auroral zone of the Earth, the electron acceleration by Alfvén waves is sometimes seen as a precursor of the non-propagating acceleration structures.
