Coupling Between Alfvén Wave and Kelvin–Helmholtz Waves in the Low Latitude Boundary Layer
The Kelvin–Helmholtz (KH) instability of magnetohydrodynamic surface waves at the low latitude boundary layer is examined using both an eigenfrequency analysis and a time-dependent wave simulation.

Ion‐Scale Kinetic Alfvén Turbulence: MMS Measurements of the Alfvén Ratio in the Magnetosheath
Turbulence in the Earth's magnetosheath at ion kinetic scales is investigated with the magnetospheric multiscale spacecraft. Several possibilities in the wave paradigm have been invoked to explain plasma turbulence at ion kinetic scales such as kinetic ...

Ion acceleration by parallel propagating nonlinear Alfvén wave packets in a radially expanding plasma [PDF]
The numerical simulation of the nonlinear evolution of the parallel propagating Alfvén waves in a radially expanding plasma is performed by using a kinetic-fluid model (the Vlasov–MHD model). In our study, both the nonlinear evolution of the Alfvén waves

Alfven wave elgenmode and Alfven resonance.
The main purpose of this article is to introduce as simply as possible the current topics concerned with the Alfven waves ; new MHD surface waves, other eigenmodes, and the Alfven resonance. These play an important role for heating plasma by applying an rf field of ion cyclotron range of frequency to a plasma column.

Abstract Saturn's Kilometric Radiation (SKR) is a powerful non‐thermal radio auroral emission produced by the Cyclotron Maser Instability (CMI), which generates waves close to the local cyclotron frequency in a highly magnetized plasma from mildly relativistic electrons.

Spiky Bursts of Energetic Electron Beams Upstream of Nonstationary Quasi‐Perpendicular Shocks
Abstract Energetic electron beams play a crucial role in collisionless shocks by driving upstream plasma waves and providing seed populations for diffusive shock acceleration. However, the processes responsible for their generation at quasi‐perpendicular shocks remain poorly understood.

Alfvén Wave Conversion to Low Frequency Fast Magnetosonic Waves in Magnetar Magnetospheres
Rapid shear motion of magnetar crust can launch Alfvén waves into the magnetosphere. The dissipation of the Alfvén waves has been theorized to power the X-ray bursts characteristic of magnetars.

Generation of Falling‐Tone Whistler‐Mode Chorus Waves in the Earth's Magnetosphere
Abstract Chorus waves are intense whistler‐mode emissions in space that play a key role in regulating energetic electron dynamics in the hazardous radiation belt. While rising‐tone chorus has been extensively studied, the generation mechanism of falling‐tone chorus remains a long‐standing problem.
