On algebraic solutions of algebraic Pfaff equations [PDF]

open access: yesStudia Mathematica, 1995
The algebraic Pfaff equation (1) \(\sum^{r+ 1}_{i= 1} P_i(x) dx_i= 0\), where the \(P_i(x)\) are homogeneous polynomials of degree \(m\) and \(\sum P_i x_i= 0\), is considered. The form of the Pfaff equation (1) with the property that the given algebraic hypersurfaces \(S_i\), \(i= 1,\dots, p\), are solutions of (1) is described.

Extension of Operational Matrix Technique for the Solution of Nonlinear System of Caputo Fractional Differential Equations Subjected to Integral Type Boundary Constrains

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
We extend the operational matrices technique to design a spectral solution of nonlinear fractional differential equations (FDEs). The derivative is considered in the Caputo sense.

Converting DAE models to ODE models: application to reactive Rayleigh distillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper illustrates the application of an index reduction method to some differential algebraic equations (DAE) modelling the reactive Rayleigh distillation.

Algebraic solutions to recursion schemes

open access: yesJournal of Computer and System Sciences, 1987
The search for solutions of the set of equations associated with recursion schemes of programs and the description of the set of such solutions constitute one of the principal problems in modern schematics. The paper deals with the algebraic theory of recursion schemes which includes tree algebras and the algebras obtained from congruence on trees ...

Underwater Source Localization Using TDOA and FDOA Measurements With Unknown Propagation Speed and Sensor Parameter Errors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Underwater source localization problems are complicated and challenging: 1) the sound propagation speed is often unknown and the unpredictable ocean current might lead to the uncertainties of sensor parameters (i.e., position and velocity); 2) the ...

A general theory of André’s solution algebras [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Fourier, 2021
We extend Yves André’s theory of solution algebras in differential Galois theory to a general Tannakian context. As applications, we establish analogues of his correspondence between solution fields and observable subgroups of the Galois group for iterated differential equations in positive characteristic and for difference equations.

Numerical Solution of Algebraic Riccati Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This concise and comprehensive treatment of the basic theory of algebraic Riccati equations describes the classical as well as the more advanced algorithms for their solution in a manner that is accessible to both practitioners and scholars.

An Algebraic Condition for the Exponential Stability of an Upwind Difference Scheme for Hyperbolic Systems

open access: yesСовременная математика: Фундаментальные направления, 2022
In the paper, we investigate the question of obtaining the algebraic condition for the exponential stability of the numerical solution of the upwind difference scheme for the mixed problem posed for onedimensional symmetric t-hyperbolic systems with ...

Sweeping algebraic curves for singular solutions

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2010
Many problems give rise to polynomial systems. These systems often have several parameters and we are interested to study how the solutions vary when we change the values for the parameters. Using predictor-corrector methods we track the solution paths. A point along a solution path is critical when the Jacobian matrix is rank deficient.
