Mechanistic Paths for the Gold(I)‐Catalyzed Heteroannulation of Salicylic Amides With Apolar Alkynes Explored With Density Functional Theory Calculations

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
A manifold of catalytic reaction paths can operate in the Au(I)‐catalyzed heteroannulation of salicylic amides and alkynes. However, a subtle initial nucleophilic advantage of N versus O and a kinetic bottleneck at an advanced stage of the mechanistic machinery seems to suffice for the reaction to run on a single path and with exquisite selectivity. Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry: Fundamental Principles, Diverse Applications, and the Latest Technological Frontiers

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The review examines the evolution of chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CI‐MS), a technique developed in 1966 by Field and Munson. CI is a soft‐ionization method that produces more intense molecular ions with less fragmentation than electron ionization (EI).

Electrospun polyimide ultrafine non-woven fabrics with high whiteness and good thermal stability from organo-soluble semi-alicyclic polyimides: Preparation and properties

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2019
A series of organo-soluble polyimide (PI) resins were synthesized by a two-step chemical imidization reaction from two semi-alicyclic dianhydrides, 1,4-dihydroxyphenyl-dicyclohexanecarboxylate-3,3′,4,4′-tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (HTA-HQ, I) and 4 ...
