A Periosteum‐Inspired Janus Piezoelectric Scaffold Using Bioenergetic‐Driven H‐Type Vascularization for Diabetic Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A periosteum‐inspired Janus piezoelectric scaffold converts micromechanical forces into electrical signals and synergizes with controlled resveratrol release. This dual action reprograms endothelial metabolism, drives H‑type vessel formation, and restores bone–vessel coupling in diabetic bone defects.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Amounts of Calcium Using the Calcium Complex with Alizarin

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 2002
The reaction between calcium and alizarin (ALZ) was investigated for the spectrophotometric determination of trace amounts of calcium. The cationic surfactant, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) was useful to increase the sensitivity.

Osteogenic Potential of a Three-Phase Strontium- and Silicon-Doped Tricalcium Silicate Cement on Dental Pulp Stem Cells: An In Vitro Study. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Exp Dent Res
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to evaluate the osteogenic potential of a novel three‐phase cement composed of strontium‐doped hydroxyapatite (Sr‐HA), silicon‐doped hydroxyapatite (Si‐HA), and tricalcium silicate (C3S) on dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) in vitro.

Multi-technique characterisation of commercial alizarin-based lakes

open access: yes, 2018
The characterization of ancient and modern alizarin-based lakes is a largely studied topic in the literature. Analytical data on contemporary alizarin-based lakes, however, are still poor, though of primary importance, since these lakes might be indeed ...

Alizarin Red S staining was positive for myofibroblasts.

open access: yes, 2015
Fibroblasts were incubated with control media for 4 days. Alizarin Red S staining of these cells was negative(Fig 5A). Calcification was not induced in the necrotic fibroblasts of mineralization group after incubation with mineralization media (DMEM ...

Micro‐Galvanic Coupling Programs the Therapeutic Zinc Ion Window to Reconfigure Immune Cascades for Pro‐Regenerative Bone Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study utilized alloy micro‐galvanic coupling design to regulate the release of essential elements, thereby programming immune responses and promoting regeneration. The sacrificial anodic process of Zn‐0.8Mg reduced Zn2+ release compared to the “large cathode‐small anode” coupling of Zn‐0.8Fe.

Human Urine Stem Cells Alleviate Pulmonary Fibrosis via Inhibiting Macrophage‐Myofibroblast Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Therapeutic role and mechanism of human urine stem cells (hUSCs) in pulmonary fibrosis. hUSCs alleviated pulmonary fibrosis by selectively inhibiting macrophage‐myofibroblast transition (MMT) in two ways: on one hand, hUSCs inhibited mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (mtROS) production and apoptosis/senescence of epithelial cells in pulmonary ...

Deep Learning Network‐Tailored Microenvironment Matching of 4D Bioprinting Bioactive Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.
