A review on alizarin-added bio-based smart meat packaging sensors
Smart food packaging systems are essential to food quality management systems through tracking changes in physicochemical quality attributes with special attention placed on changes in pH level, because these are important for signifying spoilage ...

The history of Alizarin (and madder).
The Royal Society of Chemistry historical group (of which I am a member) organises two or three one day meetings a year. Yesterday the October meeting covered (amongst other themes) the fascinating history of madder and its approximately synthetic equivalent alizarin.

A 3D‐printed interpenetrating Ti/Zn composite enables sustained Zn2+ release to regulate intracellular Ca2+ redistribution, preserve mitochondrial homeostasis, activate ERK/MAPK signaling, and promote M2 macrophage polarization, thereby enhancing osteoimmune‐mediated bone regeneration and peri‐implant osseointegration.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Amounts of Calcium Using the Calcium Complex with Alizarin
The reaction between calcium and alizarin (ALZ) was investigated for the spectrophotometric determination of trace amounts of calcium. The cationic surfactant, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) was useful to increase the sensitivity.

A 3D‑printed multilayer adhesive scaffold, firmly anchored to bone defects by simple finger pressing, suppresses micromotion and secures mechanical stability of the osteogenic niche. This stabilization likely contributes to the enhanced bone augmentation by fostering a pro‑regenerative mechano‐immune profile—characterized by M2‑like macrophage ...

Under normal conditions, MACF1 interacts with Rab14 and facilitates KIF16B‐mediated FGFR vesicle trafficking along microtubules to the plasma membrane, thereby supporting BMSC differentiation. In contrast, chronic GC exposure suppresses MACF1 expression, disrupting this transport and causing intracellular FGFR retention, which blunts osteogenic ...

Electronic Chip‐Mimetic Medical Implants for Controllable Sonothermal Treatments
Inspired by the thermal effect of working electronic chips, which consist of various heterostructures, an sonothermal‐responsive platform has been developed through constructing metal‐semiconductor interface on implants. Biofilm infection and deep vein thrombosis can be successfully treated by controllable ultrasound treatments.

Abstract The vertebrate skull is composed of bones derived from neural crest cells and mesoderm. The evolutionary capacity of the skull has been linked, in part, to the emergence of neural crest cells; however, this increased capacity for evolutionary change requires that variation within neural crest‐ and mesoderm‐derived bones remains partly ...
