Collagenous bone matrix-induced endochondral ossification hemopoiesis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
Transplantation of collagenous matrix from the rat diaphyseal bone to subcutaneous sites resulted in new bone formation by an endochondral sequence. Functional bone marrow develops within the newly formed ossicle.

Multiple fractures, pain, and severe disability in a patient with adult-onset hypophosphatasia

open access: yesBone Reports, 2016
Hypophosphatasia (HPP) is a rare, inherited metabolic bone disease resulting from mutations in the gene encoding tissue non-specific alkaline phosphatase.

The mechanism of mineralization and the role of alkaline phosphatase in health and disease.

open access: yesJournal of Nippon Medical School = Nippon Ika Daigaku zasshi, 2010
Biomineralization is the process by which hydroxyapatite is deposited in the extracellular matrix. Physiological mineralization occurs in hard tissues, whereas pathological calcification occurs in soft tissues.

IncRNA‐ZFAS1, an Emerging Gate‐Keeper in DNA Damage‐Dependent Transcriptional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LncZFAS1 plays a crucial role during DNA damage response in mammalian cells. Loss of lncZFAS1 results in deficient DNA lesion removal and reduced cell viability. Mechanistically, lncZFAS1 modulates RNAPII phosphorylation and transcription and thereby promotes both GG‐NER and TC‐NER upon UV damage.

Immunogenic Modulations Induced by Prospective Anti-Malarial Herbal Extracts in Murine Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Keeping in view the ever increasing problem of drug resistance and affordability of the antimalarial drugs by the poor mass, herbal medicines can become an important and alternative sustainable strategy for malaria treatment.

Cytogenetic, Hematobiochemical, and Histopathological Assessment of Albino Rats (Rattus norvegicus) Fed on Gluten Extracts [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Background: Literature shows that most of the information on the toxicity of gluten is generated from survey and observational studies, resulting in inconsistent outcomes and a decrease in the acceptability of gluten-rich foods. To determine gluten's safety, an in-depth in vitro and in vivo toxicological examination is required. This enables scientists

DNA‐PKcs‐Driven YAP1 Phosphorylation and Nuclear Translocation: a Key Regulator of Ferroptosis in Hyperglycemia‐Induced Cardiac Dysfunction in Type 1 Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the context of chronic hyperglycemia, a DDR is initiated, leading to the pathological activation of DNA‐PKcs in the diabetic heart. This activated DNA‐PKcs directly interacts with and phosphorylates YAP1 at Thr226, thereby increasing the nuclear expression of YAP1.

Isoquercitrin Alleviates Diabetic Nephropathy by Inhibiting STAT3 Phosphorylation and Dimerization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified a natural compound, isoquercitrin, which significantly alleviated kidney inflammation and fibrosis by inhibiting STAT3 activity. Isoquercitrin forms a strong, noncovalent bond that directly binds to STAT3. Isoquercitrin binds to the pY+1 pocket of the SH2 domain of STAT3 via hydrogen bonding with Ser668, Gln635, and Gln633 ...
