ABSTRACT Background The prevalence of allergic rhinitis (AR) and asthma (AS) comorbidity (AR + AS) is increasing and is associated with severe allergic symptoms. The impact of cat dander sensitization on AR + AS remains unclear. Methods In this retrospective study, 1154 patients with AR alone and 213 patients with AR + AS were enrolled at the Third ...

ABSTRACT Background and Objective The treatment available for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) has remained unsatisfactory. Patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs), capturing patient‐perceived health status and well‐being, are vehicles for measuring and improving the efficacy of care.

Epiphora: A Structured Diagnostic Approach for the Otolaryngologist
ABSTRACT Introduction Epiphora, or excessive tearing, has historically been predominantly managed by ophthalmologists. However, as there is substantial overlap between ophthalmic and otolaryngologic anatomy and pathology that may contribute to epiphora, patients with this symptom often present to otolaryngologists as well.

Personalized Surgery for Allergic Fungal Rhinosinusitis
ABSTRACT Background Allergic fungal rhinosinusitis (AFRS) frequently presents as unilateral or asymmetric disease. In cases with minimal disease on one side, the question remains as to the necessary extent of surgery. Objective To determine the relationship between symmetry and clinical characteristics in AFRS patients, with a focus on implications for

The Global Airways Unit: A Multidisciplinary Strategy for Early Diagnosis and Comorbidity Detection
ABSTRACT Background Chronic respiratory diseases impose a large global burden of morbidity, mortality, and cost. The concept of a global airway has become increasingly supported by epidemiologic, mechanistic, and clinical evidence. However, clinical care often remains fragmented between ear, nose, and throat (ENT), allergy, and pulmonology.

Putting Rodents at the Center of One Health Programs: A Narrative Synthesis
Rodents link human, animal, and environmental health across diverse ecosystems. Rodent diversity underpins both zoonotic disease risk and ecosystem function. Environmental change reshapes rodent communities and spillover dynamics. Rodents act as reservoirs, amplifiers, and sentinels of emerging pathogens.

Contact Allergens Relevant to LGBTQI Populations: A Narrative Review and Practical Considerations
ABSTRACT Allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) is a common inflammatory skin disorder with significant morbidity across populations. Sexual and gender minority (SGM) individuals, including LGBTQI populations, are exposed to unique allergens due to gender‐affirming medical therapies, surgical interventions, cosmetics and grooming practices, sexual health ...

Benzalkonium Chloride in Eye Drops Causing Allergic Contact Dermatitis: A Case Series
ABSTRACT We present three patients who developed allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) from benzalkonium chloride (BAK) in ophthalmic drops. BAK is a preservative commonly found in ophthalmic formulations and there is a rising trend of ACD to this allergen. The irritant and sensitising properties of BAK on the ocular mucosa will be discussed.

Three molecular profiles identified among Art v 1/Amb a 4‐sensitized patients: Art v 1 monosensitization, Amb a 4 monosensitization, and dual sensitization to both allergens. Art v 1 monosensitization was predominantly associated with allergic rhinitis, reflecting a classical airborne allergy pattern.
