Specific IgE to individual allergen components: Peanut
The measurement of IgE to peanut extract has been incorporated into the diagnosis of peanut allergy since the 1970s. After Western-blotting provided insight in the relevance of specific allergens present in crude peanut extract, the role of individual allergenic protein became clear. Despite the identification of 17 different peanut allergen components,Ehlers, Anna M. +2 more

Studies on shared antigenic/allergenic components among fungi
Allergy, 1995Fungal allergens have been found to be one of the most prevalent aeroallergens in India. Knowledge of shared/unique components among different fungi is necessary for proper diagnosis and treatment of patients allergic to fungi. In the present study, crude extracts (CE) of 11 common fungi (Alternaria alternata, Aspergillus flavus, Asp.

Levels of complement components during allergen‐induced asthma
Clinical & Experimental Allergy, 1978SummaryThe levels of circulating complement components C3 and C4, total haemolytic complement, CH50, as well as evidence of complement activation, have been studied in peripheral blood samples during allergen‐induced asthma. No evidence of activation of the complement system was detected in these studies.

Studies on an allergenic component extracted from N. brasiliensis
Immunochemistry, 1972Abstract An allergen prepared from addult Nippostrongylus brasiliensis has been isolated by Sephadex G200 and G75 gel filtration. The purified product is active in inducing passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) in rats sensitized 24 hr previously with rat anti- N. brasiliensis reaginic antibody.

Species of the Cupressaceae family are an important cause of respiratory allergies in countries with a Mediterranean climate. An allergenic extract from Cupressus arizonica pollen was prepared with two extraction steps followed by ammonium sulfate precipitation, giving a protein yield of about 3%.

Allergen component analysis as a tool in the diagnosis of occupational allergy
Current Opinion in Allergy & Clinical Immunology, 2016Rapid developments have been seen in molecular allergy diagnosis, based on the detection and quantification of specific IgE to single allergens. This review summarizes and discusses studies on allergen component analysis as a tool in the diagnosis of occupational allergy.More than 400 agents are identified as sensitizers of occupational asthma, but ...

[Enzymes are the allergenic components of inhaled pancreatin].
Deutsche medizinische Wochenschrift (1946), 1984Pancreatic extracts had caused respiratory disease in five patients. Four of them were not atopic. In four cases alpha-amylase and in two cases trypsin could be identified as causative allergen using RAST and RAST-inhibition. In addition, demonstration of immunologic cross-reactivity between porcine and bovine pancreatin was possible.
