Serum Uric Acid as a Mediator of Insulin Resistance: Molecular Mechanisms and Metabolic Pathways
Elevated SUA can lead to oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction, inflammation and impaired function of adipocytes—all of which collectively impede insulin receptor activity and downstream signalling. Key pathways involved include activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome, suppression of AMPK and induction of mitochondrial dysfunction.

Prolonged consumption of clam, Galatea paradoxa, powder led to dose‐dependent increases in uric acid and blood glucose in rats. Liver weight decreased at the highest dose, accompanied by mild histological alterations. These findings suggest that high clam intake, even within recommended dietary levels, may contribute to metabolic disturbances ...

Anti‐Tubercular Drug‐Induced Liver Injury: Current Understanding and Emerging Directions
ABSTRACT Most common adverse effect causing cessation of anti‐tubercular treatment (ATT) is drug‐induced liver injury (DILI) which is unpredictable due to its idiosyncratic nature. ATT is the most common cause of DILI and drug‐induced acute liver failure (ALF) in South East Asia.

This study evaluated pharmacogenomic (PGx) calling from whole‐exome sequencing (WES) in 3562 Taiwanese individuals. Fourteen pharmacogenes were reliably identified, with each person carrying an average of ~2.4 actionable phenotypes. The high actionable frequencies of G6PD deficiency and HLA‐B*58:01 highlight ethnic differences and support WES as a ...

In this real‐world study among 14,459 adults with MG, exposure to any contraindicated treatment was not significantly associated with risk of ICU admission for MG but was associated with significantly higher risk of death. In contrast, statins were associated with a greater risk of ICU admission but a lower risk of death.
