Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Almost periodic functions, constructively [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2005
The almost periodic functions form a natural example of a non-separable normed space. As such, it has been a challenge for constructive mathematicians to find a natural treatment of them. Here we present a simple proof of Bohr's fundamental theorem for almost periodic functions which we then generalize to almost periodic functions on general ...

Approximate Correctors and Convergence Rates in Almost-Periodic Homogenization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We carry out a comprehensive study of quantitative homogenization of second-order elliptic systems with bounded measurable coefficients that are almost-periodic in the sense of H. Weyl.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Global asymptotic stability of pseudo almost periodic solutions to a Lasota-Wazewska model with distributed delays

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2015
In this paper, we study a class of Lasota-Wazewska model with distributed delays, new criteria for the existence and global asymptotic stability of positive pseudo almost periodic solutions are established by using the fixed point method and the ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Block Toeplitz operators with frequency-modulated semi-almost periodic symbols

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2003
This paper is concerned with the influence of frequency modulation on the semi-Fredholm properties of Toeplitz operators with oscillating matrix symbols.

Dynamical analysis of almost periodic solution for a multispecies predator-prey model with mutual interference and time delays

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2017
In this paper, we build a multispecies predator-prey model with mutual interference and time delays. By means of the comparison theorem, Ascoli theorem and Lebesgue dominated convergence theorem, we establish the sufficient conditions of permanence and ...
