Selective reduction of oxo bile acids: synthesis of 3 beta-, 7 beta-, and 12 beta-hydroxy bile acids.

Preparation of some biologically important keto bile acids is described. Advantage is taken of the preferential ketalization of 3-oxo group in bile acids over 7- and 12-oxo groups for the selective reduction of these keto groups.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
