Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

LBR: Load balancing routing algorithm for wireless sensor networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Homogeneous wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are organized using identical sensor nodes, but the nature of WSNs operations results in an imbalanced workload on gateway sensor nodes which may lead to a hot-spot or routing hole problem.

Load-Balancing Routing Algorithm Based on Segment Routing for Traffic Return in LEO Satellite Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
To tackle the network congestion problem caused by ground gateway stations arranged within a limited area in low earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks, a routing algorithm based on segment routing for traffic return is proposed. Light and heavy load zones

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

CAFT: Cost-aware and Fault-tolerant routing algorithm in 2D mesh Network-on-Chip [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Computer Engineering and Technology, 2019
By increasing, the complexity of chips and the need to integrating more components into a chip has made network –on- chip known as an important infrastructure for network communications on the system, and is a good alternative to traditional ways and ...

A Survey on Geographic Routing Protocols in Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2016
Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks (DTNs) have been attracting great interest from research community, where data communication naturally does not require contemporaneous end-to-end connectivity.

Load-balanced route discovery for mobile ad hoc networks

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2006
This paper presents flow-aware routing protocol (FARP), a new routing strategy designed to improve load balancing and scalability in mobile ad hoc networks. FARP is a hop-by-hop routing protocol, which introduces a flow-aware route discovery strategy to

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.
