ABSTRACT In 2019, the Dadan Archaeological Project (CNRS/RCU/AFALULA) identified a Late Antique village 1 km south of ancient Dadan in the al‐ʿUlā valley (northwest Saudi Arabia). Three excavation seasons at this site (2021–2023) have uncovered a massive building constructed in the late third or early fourth cent.

ABSTRACT While oasis settlements emerged during the Bronze Age in Eastern and Northern Arabia, the settlement process in Central Arabia was different. Excavations at al‐Yamāma—main ancient settlement of the al‐Kharj oasis (Riyadh Province, KSA)—suggest that the latter did not emerge before the second half of the first millennium BCE.

Natural parasitism of the invasive southern green stinkbug was recorded in an organic strawberry cropping system in southwestern Germany. The tachinid fly Trichopoda pictipennis shows successful establishment and field activity, indicating ongoing range expansion.

[Chemical and nutritional characterization of amaranthus (Amaranthus cruentus)].
Two samples of Amaranthus cruentus harvested in 1987 (sample A) and 1990 (sample B) were studied. Whole and refined flours were obtained. The whole flours contained 14.6 and 12.6% protein and 6.6 and 7.3 ether extraction, respectively. Both samples contained significant levels of Ca, P, Mg and K.
