Fulminant hepatic failure due to amatoxin
A 61-year-old man was admitted with epigastralgia, vomiting, and diarrhea which developed half a day after ingestion of three Amanita virosa mushrooms. On admission, the AST value, ALT value, and prothrombin time were 994 IU/l, 730 IU/l, and 24%, respectively. Hepatitis virus markers were not detected.
