Food Hydrocolloids, 1986
Abstract The preparation of high molecular weight pectic acids with varying degrees of amidation (15–61%) is described. The samples are characterized by analytical parameters, viscosity and behaviour on gel permeation and ion-exchange chromatography columns.

Amides in Nature and Biocatalysis
Journal of Biotechnology, 2016Amides are widespread in biologically active compounds with a broad range of applications in biotechnology, agriculture and medicine. Therefore, as alternative to chemical synthesis the biocatalytic amide synthesis is a very interesting field of research. As usual, Nature can serve as guide in the quest for novel biocatalysts.

Insertion of Amides into a Polyoxometalate

Calculated amide/enol of amide energy differences for several interesting amide systems
Chemical Communications, 2000The calculated pKEnol values for the enols of amides Me2CHCON(Me)Ph and XCH2CH(NH2)CONHMe (X = H,OH) are lower by only 1.1–2.7 units than that of acetamide, and therefore these enols should not display unusual stability.

THE INTERACTION OF PHOSPHENIMIDOUS AMIDES AND PHOSPHENODIIMIDIC AMIDES WITH AMINES
Phosphorus and Sulfur and the Related Elements, 1980Abstract Phosphenimidous amides 1 react with amines to give phosphonimidic diamides 3a-b or phosphorous triamides 3d-f respectively. The nature of the product depends on the substituent R (Me3Si or t-Bu) attached to the imidic nitrogen. The amide and imide forms of the compounds 3 are relatively stable and incapable of interconvertion under the ...

The amide bond stretch of cyclic cis-amides
Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular Spectroscopy, 1987Abstract I.r. and Raman spectra of substituted 2-pyrrolidinones have been run. Examination of these spectra and comparison of them with work on N-methyl 2-pyrrolidinone supports earlier conclusions that the amide bond stretching mode of cyclic cis-amides absorbs between 1500 and 1460 cm−1.

Peptide macrocyclization through amide-to-amide transpeptidation
Tetrahedron, 2014Abstract Cyclic cysteine peptides are peptide macrocycles endowed with enhanced metabolic stability and potentially, with membrane permeability. They have attracted attention in drug design and interest in their synthesis. The chemical approach for macrocyclization through transpeptidation bears striking similarity to the biological approach using an
