Electrochemical behavior of amidine hydrochlorides and amidines
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1995The electrochemical behavior of N,N-dimethyl-N′-phenylformamidine hydrochloride was studied on a platinum electrode. The oxidation peak at +0.90 V vs. Ag/Ag+ 0.01 M (in CH3CN −0.1 M LiClO4) was assigned to the oxidation of the chloride anion. N,N-Dimethyl-N′-(4-chlorophenyl)formamidine and N,N-dimethyl-N′-(2-chlorophenyl)formamidine were isolated from

SYNTHESIS OF AMIDINE AND BIS AMIDINE PERCURSORS
Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 2001Abstract The reactions of substituted o-phenylene diamines, o-aminophenol, o-aminothiophenol, 3,4-diaminopyridine with p-cyanobenzaldehyde by refluxing in nitrobenzene gave corresponding benzimidazole, benzoxazole, benzthiazole and imidazopyridine derivatives Ia,b, II, III, and IV, respectively.

Guanidine Synthesis: Use of Amidines as Guanylating Agents
: The use of amidines for the tandem or one pot synthesis of guanidines is reported. Guanidines are obtained by oxidative rearrangement of readily available and stable amidines into carbodiimides, followed by in situ reaction with amines.

Radioprotection by Pressor Amidines
Science, 1963In the mouse, radioprotection is not always associated with the effect of hypertensive amidines and related amines. The protection resulting from this group of agents follows the pharmacological reduction of intercellular oxygen tension.

An Amidinate‐Stabilized Germatrisilacyclobutadiene Ylide
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2012AbstractThe synthesis and characterization of new amidinate‐stabilized germatrisilacyclobutadiene ylides [L3Si3GeL′] (L=PhC(NtBu)2; L′=ËL; Ë=Ge (3), Si (7)) are described. Compound 3 was prepared by the reaction of [LSiSiL] (1) with one equivalent of [LGeGeL] (2) in THF. Compound 7 was synthesized by the reaction of 2 with excess 1 in THF.
