Amidine Nitrosation

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2004
The acidic nitrosation chemistry of nine acyclic secondary and tertiary amidines (Ph-N=C(R(1))NR(2)R(3); R(1) = H, CH(3), Ph; R(2), R(3) = H, Ph or (CH(3))(2) or C(CH(2))(4)) and several N-acylamidines was investigated. The principal nitrosation products were amides derived from the amino moiety and compounds derived from the benzenediazonium ion ...

SYNTHESIS OF AMIDINE AND BIS AMIDINE PERCURSORS

Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 2001
Abstract The reactions of substituted o-phenylene diamines, o-aminophenol, o-aminothiophenol, 3,4-diaminopyridine with p-cyanobenzaldehyde by refluxing in nitrobenzene gave corresponding benzimidazole, benzoxazole, benzthiazole and imidazopyridine derivatives Ia,b, II, III, and IV, respectively.

Electrochemical behavior of amidine hydrochlorides and amidines

Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1995
The electrochemical behavior of N,N-dimethyl-N′-phenylformamidine hydrochloride was studied on a platinum electrode. The oxidation peak at +0.90 V vs. Ag/Ag+ 0.01 M (in CH3CN −0.1 M LiClO4) was assigned to the oxidation of the chloride anion. N,N-Dimethyl-N′-(4-chlorophenyl)formamidine and N,N-dimethyl-N′-(2-chlorophenyl)formamidine were isolated from

Radioprotection by Pressor Amidines

Science, 1963
In the mouse, radioprotection is not always associated with the effect of hypertensive amidines and related amines. The protection resulting from this group of agents follows the pharmacological reduction of intercellular oxygen tension.
