A nanoplatform that induces dual‐amino acid deprivation to reverse tumor immunosuppression and enhance metabolic immunotherapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
ZIF‐8‐based nanoparticles co‐delivering CB‐839 (glutaminase inhibitor) and 1‐MT (IDO1 inhibitor), dual‐targeting glutamine/tryptophan metabolism to induce immunogenic cell death, activate STING, block kynurenine production, reverse immunosuppression, and enhance cancer immunotherapy to suppress primary/distant tumors.

Black phosphorus‐based photothermal disruption of cancer‐associated fibroblast barriers and tumor‐associated macrophage targeting to enhance anti‐PD‐L1 immunotherapy in triple‐negative breast cancer

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
MBB modulates the TNBC tumor microenvironment by targeting TAM/CXCL1 and facilitates anti‐PD‐L1 therapy by disrupting CAF barriers via its photothermal effect. This combined strategy subsequently enhances the efficacy of PD‐L1 mAb and suppresses TNBC progression, metastasis, and recurrence.

Structure and inhibition of the SARS coronavirus envelope protein ion channel. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2009
The envelope (E) protein from coronaviruses is a small polypeptide that contains at least one alpha-helical transmembrane domain. Absence, or inactivation, of E protein results in attenuated viruses, due to alterations in either virion morphology or ...

Can trigeminal sensations impact saltiness perception? A mini‐review

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Many food companies have begun to reduce the salt content in their products due to health concerns; however, this reduction in salt content can affect the food's sensory appeal and flavour complexity. Flavour is defined as a combination of odour (i.e., smell), taste (i.e., gustation) and trigeminal sensations (i.e., chemesthesis).

Identification of functionally distinct Na-HCO3 co-transporters in colon. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Na-HCO3 cotransport (NBC) regulates intracellular pH (pHi) and HCO3 secretion in rat colon. NBC has been characterized as a 5,5'-diisothiocyanato-2-2'-stilbene (DIDS)-sensitive transporter in several tissues, while the colonic NBC is sensitive to both ...

Biocompatible Sulfobetaine Polymer‐Artemisinin Conjugates Inducing Ferroptosis in Cancer Cells: Synthesis by Mechanochemical Solid‐State Polymerization and Characterization

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
The amphiphilic copolymer incorporating a hydrophobic chain conjugated with artesunate into a biocompatible sulfobetaine polymer is synthesized by solid‐state copolymerization of sulfobetaine methacrylate and methacrylamide derivative conjugating artesunate.

Role of endogenous ENaC and TRP channels in the myogenic response of rat posterior cerebral arteries. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Mechanogated ion channels are predicted to mediate pressure-induced myogenic vasoconstriction in small resistance arteries. Recent findings have indicated that transient receptor potential (TRP) channels and epithelial sodium channels (ENaC) are involved
