Synthesis of 1-phenyl-3-pyrroline in water

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2012
Pyrrolines are bioactive compounds and can be used as starting materials or as intermediates in the synthesis of natural products [1,2]. N-phenyl-pyrrolines have been prepared by reaction of N-propargylanilines catalyzed by Cu(I) [3] or the ring-closing ...

Second messenger systems underlying amine and peptide actions on cardiac muscle in the horseshoe crab, Limulus polyphemus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The biochemical mechanisms by which octopamine, catecholamines and the peptide proctolin exert their actions on Limulus cardiac muscle were investigated.

Theoretical description of mixed film formation at the air/water interface : carboxylic acids–fatty amines

open access: yes, 2020
Thermodynamic parameters of mixed monolayer formation of aliphatic amines CnH2n+1NH2 and carboxylic acids CnH2n+1COOH (n = 6–16) are calculated using the quantum chemical semiempirical PM3 method.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

The Fluorescent Sensing of BF3 and Amines: A Dual Approach with Hydrazone Ligands

open access: yesSensors
BF3, volatile amines (VOAs), and biogenic amines (BAs) are the key indicators in chemical reaction catalysis and food quality monitoring. In this study, we present two types of fluorescent sensors, a hydrazone ligand (HL)-based fluorescent sensor for BF3

Solid Phase Formylation of N-Terminus Peptides

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
Formylation of amino groups is a critical reaction involved in several biological processes including post-translational modification of histones. The addition of a formyl group (CHO) to the N-terminal end of a peptide chain generates biologically active

Imine- and Amine-Type Macrocycles Derived from Chiral Diamines and Aromatic Dialdehydes

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
The condensation of aromatic dialdehydes with chiral diamines, such as 1,2-trans-diaminocyclohexane, leads to various enantiopure or meso-type macrocyclic Schiff bases, including [2 + 2], [3 + 3], [4 + 4], [6 + 6] and [8 + 8] condensation products ...

Neurohormonal modulation of the Limulus heart: amine actions on neuromuscular transmission and cardiac muscle [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The responses of Limulus cardiac neuromuscular junctions and cardiac muscle cells to four endogenous amines were determined in order to identify the cellular targets underlying amine modulation of heartbeat amplitude.
