Design and Synthesis of Peptide‐Polyester Conjugates for Cell‐Mediated Scaffold Degradation
This work describes polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based biomaterials engineered to degrade in response to cell‐secreted proteases. A fast‐degrading peptide (Fast) sequence is integrated into a PCL conjugate backbone to produce a biomaterial that is selectively degraded by multiple cell types compared to its scrambled control (ScrFast).

Characterization of an NH−π Interaction in Co(III) Ternary Complexes with Aromatic Amino Acids
The NH−π interaction has been detected in the crystal structures of Co(III) ternary complexes with N,N-bis(carboxymethyl)-(S)-phenylalanine (BCMPA) and aromatic amino acids including (S)-phenylalanine ((S)-Phe), (R)-phenylalanine ((R)-Phe), and (S ...

Integrated Visible Light and Oxidant Protection Through Multifunctional Sunscreens
High‐energy visible radiation (HEVR), although less energetic than UV light, penetrates deeper into the skin and contributes to photoaging, pigmentation disorders, and oxidative stress. The development of new HEVR‐targeted filters, therefore, represents not only a scientific challenge but also a pressing public health and cosmetic industry need.

Adsorption of amino acids by fullerenes and fullerene nanowhiskers
We have investigated the adsorption of some amino acids and an oligopeptide by fullerene (C60) and fullerene nanowhiskers (FNWs). C60 and FNWs hardly adsorbed amino acids. Most of the amino acids used have a hydrophobic side chain.

Pharmacokinetic engineering of clickable radioligands was achieved via albumin hitchhiking approach within a pretargeted radiotheranostics delivery platform. This approach reduced rapid renal elimination, expanded bioorthogonal capture window, boosted tumor uptake by ∼3.5‐fold, and improved the tumor‐to‐liver ratio by ∼6‐fold.

Bioorthogonal chemistry was applied to intracellularly photoactivate Doxorubicin (Dox) using gold nanostars (AuNSt) and near‐infrared (NIR) light. Two prodrugs were used: one photoactivatable, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl carbamate (proDox1) and another photolabile, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl diol (proDox2), which was attached to the AuNSt surface.

Azaporphyrinoid‐Based Photo‐ and Electroactive Architectures for Advanced Functional Materials
A long‐standing collaboration between the Torres and Guldi groups has yielded diverse azaporphyrinoid‐based donor‐acceptor nanohybrids with promising applications in solar energy conversion. This conspectus highlights key molecular platforms and structure‐function relationships that govern light and charge management, supporting the rational design of ...
