Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...

Transition metal compound mediated reduction of alpha-amino acids to 1,2-amino alcohols with NaBH4 in water

open access: yes, 1999
A new efficient and cost-effective method for the preparation of 1,2-amino alcohols is described. The reactions of amino acids with NaBH4 in the presence of NiCl2 or MoO3 in water give 1,2-amino alcohols in high yield.

An asymmetric route to amino alcohols [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2015
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY Amines and alcohols are among the most common and versatile functional groups in organic chemistry. The nitroso variant of the Diels-Alder reaction is a convenient means of introducing both to the same molecule. Both ends of the N=O group form a bridge between the outer carbons in a C=C-C=C diene motif, after which the lingering N-O ...

Conversion of homochiral amines, beta-amino alcohols and alpha-amino acids to their chiral 2-substituted pyrrole derivatives

open access: yes, 2001
The conversion of the amino group of chiral amines, amino alcohols, amino acids and their esters into chiral 2-substituted pyrrole derivatives with various halogeno enones is described. The conversion works in good yield and without racemization.

Shaping Carbon Nitrides for Advanced Macrostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review examines how carbon nitride can be shaped through a range of printing and interfacial assembly methods. By bringing together additive manufacturing and liquid–liquid structuring concepts, carbon nitride is moving beyond its traditional powder‐based photocatalyst form toward digitally designed robust macroscale architectures with high design

Stereoselective Synthesis and Cytoselective Toxicity of Monoterpene-Fused 2-Imino-1,3-thiazines

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
Starting from pinane-, apopinane- and carane-based 1,3-amino alcohols obtained from monoterpene-based β-amino acids, a library of monoterpene-fused 2-imino-1,3-thiazines as main products and 2-thioxo-1,3-oxazines as side-products were prepared via two ...

Synthesis of Fmoc-protected β-amino alcohols and peptidyl alcohols from Fmoc-amino acid / peptide acid azides

open access: yes, 2006
1880-1886An efficient synthesis of N-9H-fluoren-9-ylmethoxycarbonyl(Fmoc)-β-amino alcohols by the reduction of Fmoc--amino acyl azides employing aqueous NaBH4 as a reducing agent has been described. The reduction is found to be simple and almost complete.

Mitigating Efficiency Roll‐Off in Phosphor‐Sensitized Fluorescence OLEDs via Molecular Polarity‐Based Benzofuropyridine Host Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Positional isomerism in dibenzofuran‐based n‐type hosts modulates molecular polarity, charge‐transport balance, and emissive‐layer packing. The higher‐polarity BFPDB‐2 host facilitates efficient energy funneling, reduced aggregation, and preferential dipole orientation, leading to phosphor‐sensitized fluorescence OLEDs with enhanced external quantum ...
