ObjectiveAnimal magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) imaging was used to detect the level of glutamate and γ-aminobutyric acid in motor cortex of rats, and to explore the regulatory effect of constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) on motor function ...

Trends in gabapentinoid prescribing: A nationwide Danish drug utilization study
Aims Pregabalin and gabapentin are increasingly used for pain and other conditions. Concerns exist about overuse as well as potential misuse and abuse. To guide rational prescribing practices, we provide detailed nationwide data on the use of gabapentinoids in Denmark.

Abstract Studies examining the associations of chronic stressors with sleep health in older adults have shown conflicting results. While the COVID‐19 pandemic increased perceived stress at the population level, less is known about chronic stressors experienced by older adults in the context of the COVID‐19 pandemic and its impact on sleep health in an ...

Are Strong Bronsted Acids Necessarily Strong Lewis Acids? [PDF]
The Broensted and Lowry acid base theory is based on the capacity of proton donation or acceptance (in the presence or absence of a solvent) whereas the Lewis acid base theory is based on the propensity of electron pair acceptance or donation. We explore through DFT calculation the obvious question whether these two theories are in conformity with each

Tetramethylenedisulfotetramine alters Ca²⁺ dynamics in cultured hippocampal neurons: mitigation by NMDA receptor blockade and GABA(A) receptor-positive modulation. [PDF]
Tetramethylenedisulfotetramine (TETS) is a potent convulsant that is considered a chemical threat agent. We characterized TETS as an activator of spontaneous Ca²⁺ oscillations and electrical burst discharges in mouse hippocampal neuronal cultures at 13 ...

Deciphering the skeletal interoceptive circuitry to control bone homeostasis
This review introduces the skeletal interoceptive circuitry, covering the ascending signals from bone tissues to the brain (sensors), the central neural circuits that integrate this information and dispatch commands (CPU), and the descending pathways that regulate bone homeostasis (effectors).

The Factors of the Classification of Protein Amino Acids [PDF]
In this work it is shown that three pairs of the factors appear to be the key, i.e. main factors of a natural classification of protein (canonical) amino acids within the amino acid (genetic) code. First pair: the factors of the habit of an amino acid molecule (size and polarity).

Highly‐Selective Electrochemical Decarboxylative Late‐Stage Functionalization of Amino Acids
Electrochemical decarboxylative late‐stage functionalization of the C‐ or N‐terminus of natural amino acids is presented. Metal and catalyst‐free protocol widely explored the synthesis of hindered ethers, amines, or di‐peptide. Abstract A unified electrochemical decarboxylative strategy for the site‐selective construction of carbon‐heteroatom bonds is ...
