Different Infectivity of Swine Enteric Coronaviruses in Cells of Various Species

open access: yesPathogens
Swine enteric coronaviruses (SECoVs), including porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV), transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), and swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV), have caused high mortality in ...

A Reproducible Workflow for Macrophage Membrane Isolation and Nanocore Selection Toward Bioinspired Nanoparticles Targeting Immunologically Cold Tumors

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 5, 9 March 2026.
A reproducible workflow is established for isolating macrophage membranes to enable the efficient preparation and characterization of membrane‐coated nanoparticles. By optimizing M2‐like nanovesicle stability and nanocore compatibility, this procedure advances the engineering of macrophage membrane‐coated nanoparticles with improved tumor targeting ...

Enhanced below‐ground functioning is associated with higher plant resistance against drought: Implications for ecosystem functions

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 114, Issue 3, March 2026.
The results suggest that the subordinate species achieves higher drought resistance in biomass and soil functions via increased below‐ground functioning. The data presented here provide a basis to explain the underlying mechanisms behind the response of grassland communities and their C cycling to drought.

Multi‐Omics Reveals Phenethyl Acetate and Its Producer Lactiplantibacillus plantarum as Key Drivers of Enhanced Palatability in Alfalfa Silage

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 3, March 2026.
The quality and flavour profile of silage affect its palatability and the feed intake of ruminants. This study offers a novel strategy for optimising the synergistic fermentation of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and phenylethyl acetate, thereby enhancing alfalfa silage flavour quality and promoting sheep feed intake.

Clathrins Are Involved in the Endocytosis of Host Cytosol in the Malaria Parasite

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 27, Issue 1, March 2026.
This study characterized clathrin function in hemoglobin uptake from host red blood cells via the malaria parasite's specific endocytosis machinery, cytostome. Clathrin heavy chain, clathrin light chain, and AP‐1 γ subunit were found associated with certain proteins known to be involved in cytostome function, and they were localized at the collars of ...

Acceleration of straw-nitrogen mineralization under co-elevation of CO2 and temperature is associated with microbial attributes in the rhizosphere of rice

open access: yesGeoderma
Quantifying the straw-nitrogen (N) in soil N pools and exploring soil microbial phylogenetic diversity involved in N mineralization are important for effectively managing crop straw to optimize crop N use under climate change. This study used 15N-labeled
