Short report: interferon-alpha decreases 14C-aminopyrine breath test values in patients with chronic hepatitis C [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of interferon-alpha on cytochrome P-450 dependent microsomal function. METHODS: The 14C-aminopyrine breath test was performed before, during and after a standard dose of interferon-alpha (3,000,000 units three times ...

Effects of orally applied butyrate bolus on histone acetylation and cytochrome P450 enzyme activity in the liver of chicken – a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesNutrition & Metabolism, 2013
Background Butyrate is known as histone deacetylase inhibitor, inducing histone hyperacetylation in vitro and playing a predominant role in the epigenetic regulation of gene expression and cell function.

Sex-related alterations of aminopyrine metabolism by standardised extract of Eurycoma Longifolia (TAF-273) [PDF]

open access: yes
Previous study showed that the standardised 50% aqueous-methanol extract of Eurycoma longifolia (TAF-273) affected phase 1 aminopyrine metabolism especially in adult male and female rat hepatocytes.

Carbonic anhydrase activity and aminopyrine uptake in isolated gastric mucosal cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
The role of carbonic anhydrase in the regulation and production of gastric acid was examined. Studies were done on isolated rabbit fundic mucosal cells, in which carbonic anhydrase activity and [14C]aminopyrine uptake were measured.

Evaluation of indocyanine green retention and aminopyrine breath tests in patients with malignant biliary obstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Impaired hepatic function is a major contributory factor to the high incidence of postoperative morbidity and mortality in patients with malignant biliary obstruction.

HEPATIC AMINOPYRINE N-DEMETHYLASE SYSTEM: INTERACTION OF AMINOPYRINE WITH MICROSOMAL CYTOCHROME P-450

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Pharmacology, 1981
Interaction of aminopyrine with microsomal membrane-bound cytochrome P-450 was studied spectrophotometrically at various pH. Aminopyrine-induced type I spectral change in untreated rat microsomes was observed in neutral and alkaline media, and the absorption magnitude between peak and trough in the spectra increased markedly by increasing pH.

Critical appraisal of (13) C breath tests for microsomal liver function: aminopyrine revisited [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
As liver diseases are a major health problem and especially the metabolic liver diseases like non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) rising, the demand for non-invasive tests is growing to replace liver Non-invasive tests such as carbon-labelled ...

Overview of acute Chinese medicine poisoning in Hong Kong

open access: yesHong Kong Journal of Emergency Medicine, Volume 32, Issue 6, December 2025.
Abstract Background Chinese medicine (CM) poisoning is relatively rare in Hong Kong. According to the Department of Health, only 17 cases of self‐medicated Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)‐related poisoning were reported between 2019 and 2021—an average of approximately 5.7 cases per year.

Cholecystokinin and Gastrin Inhibit Histamine Stimulated Aminopyrine Uptake in Isolated Rabbit Gastric Glands [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
In the present study we have analyzed if cholecystokinin (CCK) or gastrin (G) can inhibit acid production in isolated rabbit gastric glands as revealed by the aminopyrine technique. The results show that G 17 I, CCK 8 NS, CCK 8 S, ceruletide and CCK 39 ...
