The Economics of Liver Fibrosis Diagnosis: Systematic Review of Non‐Invasive Test Cost‐Effectiveness

open access: yesLiver International Communications, Volume 6, Issue 4, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Hepatic diseases progress silently, leading to fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Although liver biopsy remains the gold standard for fibrosis assessment, it is limited by invasiveness and sampling variability. Non‐invasive liver tests (NILTs) can mitigate biopsy‐related risks.

Aminopyrine breath test predicts liver‐related events and death in HCV‐related cirrhosis on SVR after DAA therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In patients with HCV-related advanced cirrhosis, the effects of SVR by DAAs on decompensation and liver deaths is less clearcut, since up to 30 % of patients do not improve, and no predictors of outcome have been identified.

Drug-induced agranulocytosis: Case series [PDF]

open access: yesHospital Pharmacology, 2018
Introduction: Agranulocytosis is a life-threatening disorder characterized by disappearance of granulocytes from peripheral blood or decrease of peripheral neutrophil count below 0.5x109 /l. It frequently occurs as idiosyncratic adverse drug reaction. It

Systemic Inflammation and Oxidative Stress Markers in Patients With Medication Overuse Headache

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
Patients with medication overuse headache (MOH) showed distinct inflammatory and oxidative stress profiles compared to healthy controls. Elevated values of lymphocyte to high‐density lipoprotein (HDL) ratio (LHR), monocyte to HDL ratio (MHR), and neutrophil to HDL ratio (NHR) were independently associated with MOH. ABSTRACT Background Recent scientific

13C-aminopyrine demethylation is decreased in cirrhotic patients with normal biochemical markers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This study determined the rates of (13)C-aminopyrine metabolism in patients with varying degrees of liver cirrhosis as defined by clinical scores. Twenty-five cirrhotic patients and 18 healthy subjects underwent a (13)C-aminopyrine breath test.

Antipyrine and aminopyrine permeability of individually perfused frog capillaries [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
The mechanisms of transport of water and solutes across both hydrophilic and lipophilic pathways in the capillary wall were investigated. Paired measurements of the osmotic reflection and solute permeability coefficients of a lipid soluble solute ...

Morin as a Modulator of Hepatic Glucose Fluxes: A Balance Between Antihyperglycemic Potential and Mitochondrial Toxicity

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 39, Issue 7, July 2025.
Morin modulates hepatic glucose metabolism by inhibiting gluconeogenesis and enhancing glycogenolysis in perfused rat livers. These effects, partly attributed to mitochondrial dysfunction and impaired oxidative phosphorylation, are accompanied by decreased ATP levels and enzyme inhibition, raising concerns about bioenergetic imbalance and potential ...
