Thromboembolic and neurologic sequelae of discontinuation of an antihyperlipidemic drug during ongoing warfarin therapy [PDF]
Warfarin and antihyperlipidemics are commonly co-prescribed. Some antihyperlipidemics may inhibit warfarin deactivation via the hepatic cytochrome P450 system.

Punicalagin, a pomegranate molecule, helps the body fight Mycobacterium abscessus. It preferentially boosts interstitial macrophages in the lung, stabilizing mitochondria and switching on the autophagy via SIRT1/FoxO3a, which lowers bacterial load without directly killing bacteria.

Suspected hepatotoxicity effect of amiodarone (amiodarone and liver) [PDF]
Introduction: Acute hepatotoxicity is a rare but potentially fatal complication of amiodarone use. We report a case of liver injury after intravenous amiodarone administration in a patient with atrial fibrillation after heart surgery. Case report: A 62-year-old man with a history of dissection of the ascending aortic aneurysm presented for emergency ...

Local sensitivity analysis of a supercritical extraction model
Abstract This study investigates the process of chamomile oil extraction from chamomile flowers. A parameter‐distributed model, consisting of a set of partial differential equations, was used to describe the governing mass transfer phenomena between solid and fluid phases under supercritical conditions using carbon dioxide as the solvent.

Amiodarone and Thyroid Dysfunction
Thyroid gland has a key role in maintaining the body homeostasis. Thyroxine is the main hormone secreted from the thyroid gland, its effect being predominantly achieved after the intracellular conversion of thyroxine to triiodothyronine, which exhibits a higher affinity for the receptor complex, thus modifying gene expression of the target cells ...

Organic cation transporter (OCT) 2 and multidrug and toxin extrusion (MATE) transporters play significant roles in the renal secretion of organic cations and drug–drug interactions (DDIs). Recent in vitro studies indicate that the Ki values for OCT2 exhibit substrate dependency and increase in potency with pre‐incubation.
