Granulocytic Sarcoma as the First Sign of Acute Leukemia in Childhood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) may rarely involve the orbit as a solid tumor termed granulocytic sarcoma. This report describes the case of a child who presented with rapidly progressive unilateral proptosis and was diagnosed as rhabdomyosarcoma.

Complex Genetic Architecture in RASopathies: Constitutional PTPN11 and Mosaic RIT1 Pathogenic Variants Underlying Severe Noonan Syndrome With Adult‐Onset Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Noonan syndrome (NS) is a genetically heterogeneous disorder characterized by a broad spectrum of clinical features resulting from dysregulation of the RAS/MAPK pathway. Although complex genotypes are increasingly recognized in NS, cases harboring two distinct pathogenic variants in different NS genes remain extremely rare.

Molecular characterization of the A52 murine hepatocellular carcinoma cell line

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a poor outcome cancer with limited therapeutic choices. To advance therapeutic development we genetically characterized the A52 murine HCC cell line. We noted genetic changes that match a subset of human HCC and this offers the opportunity to test novel targeted therapies in syngeneic mice.

The pore-load modulus of ordered nanoporous materials with surface effects

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
Gas and liquid adsorption-induced deformation of ordered porous materials is an important physical phenomenon with a wide range of applications. In general, the deformation can be characterized by the pore-load modulus and, when the pore size reduces to ...

Genetic prediction of blood cell reactivity and its potential causal influence on bone continuity and density disorders

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
We applied Mendelian randomization to explore causal links between blood cell traits and skeletal disorders. Using genetic instruments from large‐scale summary statistics, we assessed effects on bone continuity, density, and structural integrity. Sensitivity and reverse analyses confirmed robust associations, highlighting potential shared biological ...

Overcoming myelosuppression due to synthetic lethal toxicity for FLT3-targeted acute myeloid leukemia therapy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Activating mutations in FLT3 confer poor prognosis for individuals with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Clinically active investigational FLT3 inhibitors can achieve complete remissions but their utility has been hampered by acquired resistance and ...

Structure and evolution of low-mass W UMa type systems -- II. with angular momentum loss

open access: yes, 2004
In a preceding paper, using Eggleton's evolution code we have discussed the structure and evolution of low-mass W UMa type contact binaries without angular momentum loss (AML).

Pharmacological evaluation of Adenostemma lavenia acetone extract in Swiss Albino mice: Analgesic, anti‐inflammatory, and thrombolytic insights from in vivo, in vitro, density functional theory, and molecular docking studies

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Adenostemma lavenia, a traditionally used medicinal plant, has been employed to manage pain, inflammation, and circulatory issues. This study investigates the analgesic, anti‐inflammatory, and thrombolytic potentials of the acetone extract of A. lavenia leaves (AEAL) using in vivo, in vitro, and in silico methods.

Ubiquitin-specific peptidase 3 induces TPA-mediated leukemia cell differentiation via regulating H2AK119ub

open access: yesAnimal Cells and Systems, 2019
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common type of leukemia in adults. Owing to the chemotherapy associated side effects and toxicity, it is necessary to find a new mechanism, which can identify new potential therapeutic targets at the molecular ...
