Enterobacter Species: Opportunistic Human and Plant Pathogens With Plant‐Beneficial Traits
The pathogen profile on Enterobacter species synthesises current knowledge on host range, disease symptoms, plant‐beneficial traits and compares genomic features within the genus. ABSTRACT Enterobacter species occur across diverse habitats and are best known for causing opportunistic and nosocomial infections in humans.

Partial asynapsis in Amorphophallus Konjac.
Studies were made on the external morphology, meiotic divisions, pollen fertility and pollen size in three main Japanese varieties of Amorphophallus Konjac : Bittyu Zairai and Chinese (Shina). (1) These three varieties resemble mutually in external morphology except for some differences in size of the spot on leafstalk ; size, number and colour of ...

Caecal bacterial composition of broiler chickens affected by porang glucomannan
Glucomannan is consisted of D-glucose and D-mannose with β-1.4 linkages. Poultry had no enzyme to digest β linkage so that porang (Amorphophallus onchophyllus) glucomannan could be a prebiotic candidate.

Abstract We have already published a review about the results of clinical trials evaluating the effects of selected nutraceuticals on glycemia in humans. In this second part, we describe the role of other nutraceuticals involved in dysglycemia. The available evidence showed promising hypoglycemic effects of the nutraceuticals reviewed both for their ...

Edible Soft Actuators Based on Konjac Glucomannan for Underwater Operation
An edible, water‐resistant soft actuator is developed utilizing konjac glucomannan (KGM). Fluidic pressurization of the actuator can generate bending motion. Its performance is stable and repeatable. Also, a gripper consisting of KGM is developed, which can grasp various foods.

Embryogenesis and plant regeneration from unpollinated ovaries of Amorphophallus konjac
The system of somatic embryogenesis of Amorphophallus konjac had been built through unpollinated ovaries. The embryogenic calli were induced on Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal medium supplemented with 9.0 μM 6- benzylaminopurine (BA), 0.4 μM 2,4dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (D), 1.0 μM naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), and the induction rate was 34.0%.
