Formation of Amorphous Iron‐Calcium Phosphate with High Stability [PDF]

open access: hybridAdvanced Materials, 2023
AbstractAmorphous iron‐calcium phosphate (Fe‐ACP) plays a vital role in the mechanical properties of teeth of some rodents, which are very hard, but its formation process and synthetic route remain unknown. Here, the synthesis and characterization of an iron‐bearing amorphous calcium phosphate in the presence of ammonium iron citrate (AIC) are reported.

Osteogenic potential of poly(ethylene glycol)-amorphous calcium phosphate composites on human mesenchymal stem cells [PDF]

open access: goldJournal of Tissue Engineering, 2020
Synthetic hydrogel-amorphous calcium phosphate composites are promising candidates to substitute biologically sourced scaffolds for bone repair. While the hydrogel matrix serves as a template for stem cell colonisation, amorphous calcium phosphate s ...

Amorphous Calcium Phosphate and Amorphous Calcium Phosphate Carboxylate: Synthesis and Characterization. [PDF]

open access: yesACS Omega, 2023
Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) is the first solid phase precipitated from a supersaturated calcium phosphate solution. Naturally, ACP is formed during the initial stages of biomineralization and stabilized by an organic compound. Carboxylic groups containing organic compounds are known to regulate the nucleation and crystallization of hydroxyapatite.

Rapid association of unconjugated bilirubin with amorphous calcium phosphate.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1995
The association of unconjugated bilirubin (UCB) with amorphous calcium phosphate was studied in vitro. To this end UCB, solubilized in different micellar bile salt solutions, was incubated with freshly prepared calcium phosphate precipitate.

Amorphous calcium phosphates: synthesis, properties and uses in biomaterials [PDF]

open access: yesActa Biomaterialia, 2010
This review paper on amorphous calcium phosphates (ACPs) provides an update on several aspects of these compounds which have led to many studies and some controversy since the 1970s, particularly because of the lack of irrefutable proof of the occurrence
