Discovery of a Novel and Potent Kir4.1 Inhibitor as a Safe and Rapid‐Onset Antidepressant Agent in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The preferred derivative JX3212 demonstrates strong inhibitory activity against Kir4.1 with favorable druggability and shows significant antidepressant efficacy in vivo. Abstract Major depressive disorder is a serious psychiatric disorder for which novel and fast‐acting antidepressants are required.

Two Novel S‐methyltransferases Confer Dimethylsulfide Production in Actinomycetota

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies two novel S‐adenosine‐methionine‐dependent methyltransferases, MddM1 and MddM2, in actinomycetes from the Mariana Trench. These enzymes can convert toxic hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and methanethiol (MeSH) into dimethylsulfide (DMS), serving as a cellular detoxification and oxidative stress response.

Investigation of using Fenton oxidation process for ampicillin and ciprofloxacin removal from hospital wastewater [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه ابن سینا, 2017
Background: Antibiotics are one of the most important pollutants of the aqueous environments. In this study, the efficiency of Fenton advanced oxidation process to remove the antibiotics (ciprofloxacin and ampicillin) was investigated.

Production and characterization of a single-chain Fv antibody–alkaline phosphatase fusion protein specific for ampicillin

open access: yesFood and Agricultural Immunology, 2019
Anti-AMP scFv were prepared by cloning variable region genes (VH and VL) from hybridoma cell line which secretes antibodies against AMP, and phoA gene was cloned from Escherichia coli strain K12 chromosomal DNA.

Quantification of Antibiotic Diffusion in Biofilms Using Gold Nanostar Surface‐enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gold nanostar‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) enables real‐time, label‐free tracking of levofloxacin diffusion in intact biofilms. Nanostars embedded 16 µm below the surface detect drug arrival over time, revealing the impact of the biofilm matrix on antibiotic transport. Abstract The increased resistance to antibiotics shown by bacteria in biofilms

Assessment the risk factors of gastroenteritis and the role of antibiotics used Ampicillin and Ampicillin plus Amikacin in the treatment among children aged 3-60 months from 1-7-2013 to 1-10 2013 in Kamal Odwan Hospital, prospective study.

open access: yesÇukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Dergisi, 2014
The term gastroenteritis denotes infections of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract caused by bacterial, viral, parasitic pathogens or chemical agents and food intolerance, none of which requires antimicrobial therapy.
